Our interest in the Kay family derives from Elspeth Kay who married James Husband (See Ref.41) 26.1.1729 at Leuchars, Fife.
Kay Frazer family
James and Elspeth had children baptised between 1729 and 1742, which suggested that Elspeth must have been born between, say, 1697 and 1712. The only baptism in Fife in the period was for Elspet Kay 1.6.1712 at Ferry Port on Craig (modern Tayport), Fife, daughter of John Kay and Janet Frazer. We have not found their marriage. Their children appear in Appendix 1 hereto.
Further back
There were no less than six John Kays baptised at Ferry Port on Craig between 1679 and 1689! We could see no likely Janet Frazer baptisms.
