Our interest in this family arises from Ann Husband who married George Buttercase (See Ref.K4) at Leuchars, Fife 1.11.1796.
Husband Key family
It appears that Ann was baptised 21.2.1777 at Leuchars, Fife, the daughter of John Husband and Ann Key who married 4.11.1768 at Leuchars. They had children as listed in Appendix 1 hereto. We have not so far identified Ann Key’s background.
Husband Kay family
There was only one John Husband baptised in Fife 1730-50 and that was the son of James Husband and Elspeth Kay (See Ref. K412) baptised 7.2.1742 at Leuchars. As well the family naming pattern, it seems that he was of the same age as Ann Key, his eventual wife, which is reassuring. The marriage was at Leuchars 26.1.1729. Their family is listed in Appendix 2 hereto.
Husband Dick family
We found a baptism at Leuchars 26.12.1708 of a James Husband, son of Patrick Husband and Katharine Dick but have not found their marriage or anything else about them. There was another baptism at Leuchars 18.3.1711 for a sister Margaret.
